The Jewel Cichlid (Hemichromis bimaculatus) is a brilliantly colored African cichlid known for its intense red coloration and sparkling blue-green spots that resemble jewels. These stunning fish are highly territorial and can be quite aggressive, especially during breeding periods. While not suitable for typical community tanks, their breathtaking colors and fascinating parental behaviors make them a rewarding challenge for experienced cichlid enthusiasts who can provide them with proper housing and tankmates.
