This wood may release tannins, which can temporarily tint your water a light yellow or brown. This is harmless and will lessen over time. Boiling the wood beforehand can help reduce tannin release.
Malaysian driftwood is naturally dense, so it typically sinks without needing to be weighted down.
Important: Rinse the wood thoroughly before placing it in an established tank. For additional preparation, you may boil it for 1–2 hours to help remove excess tannins.
